To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in reference to the LifeGas business relationship with SpecAir, a division of Maine Oxy, Auburn, Maine. Last spring, Linde-Gas divested its specialty cylinder gas business unit. With the divestiture, LifeGas was left with either entering into a business relationship with the purchaser or finding alternate sources of medical and specialty cylinder gases. SpecAir was contacted and asked if they would like to be considered as a supplier of gases to LifeGas, Marlborough, MA.

I was contacted by Mr. Ernest Glynn of  SpecAir. Mr. Glynn reviewed our list of gases and then presented LifeGas with a proposal. Having known Mr. Glynn for quite a few years, I had confidence in his offer.

SpecAir was awarded a scheduling agreement with LifeGas. SpecAir supplies a variety of gases ranging from medical breathing air to multi-component lung diffusion mixtures. In addition to the high quality medical and specialty gas products, SpecAir’s service levels are outstanding. Currently, we have a one-week return and fill schedule.  Gas products are never back ordered. In the event that the Linde owned cylinders are not available to be filled for new or additional requests, SpecAir provides their PurityPlus cylinders. These cylinders are always freshly painted, netted, and look professional.

Part of the LifeGas requirement is a high service level. With our demanding research clients, we are forced to supply new mixtures on a short delivery basis. SpecAir does everything in their power to supply product. In some cases, SpecAir has made special deliveries to LifeGas in less than 24 hours! SpecAir has entered into a partnership with LifeGas and they have held up their part of the deal!

Billing, an important part of the relationship, has been excellent. SpecAir has instituted the “our number / your number” system. All billing transactions use our current SAP part numbers. This makes the processing of the receiving documents and payment of the invoices easy to do. In addition, SpecAir has a terrific inside sales and administration group who handle all areas of the business. Joe Albiston, Customer Service Manager, has knowledge of every order, where it stands in the manufacturing process to the shipping and billing information.

To date, LifeGas is pleased with the performance of SpecAir. They are helpful and are interested in growing their business with LifeGas. I would not hesitate to become a business partner with SpecAir.

We have Maintenance and Inspection Schedules set up for all our Trucks and Heavy Equipment. It saves us money, downtime and injury. I never thought to do the same with our Welding and Cutting Equipment till Ken from Maine Oxy came to us and explained their program. I realized then what an oversight it had been and all the bullets we had dodged over the years. We have always used Torches and Welding Equipment but had very little professional instruction in the care and maintenance of them. Maine Oxy came in with a very informative presentation on Safety and Maintenance to get us up to speed and that very day Ken implemented a Scheduled Inspection Program for us. We now enjoy the same benefit from a regular program with our tools as we do with our Heavy Equipment.

I am very satisfied with the program and would never run without it again.
