Dick Schaeffer is a retired mechanical engineer who established his shop and began blacksmithing in 2001.  He started his training with a basic course taught by Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil, an ABANA affiliate.  Since that initial class, he has taken classes at Touchstone, J. C. Campbell, and New England School of Metalwork.  His primary focus is decorative ironwork for both interior and exterior use.  Dick has done several commissions and shows and sells his work at the Artisan Center at Maple Creek, Moscow, Ohio, just east of Cincinnati.
