Maine Oxy and
the New England School of Metalwork have
hosted annual car shows since 2005.
The car shows over time
have expanded from one show to two shows a year. Events
are held at our Headquarters in Auburn, Maine and at our
branch store location in Brewer, Maine. These events
have developed into our largest fund raisers. We have
grown from 20 show cars to over 140. The planning and
coordination for the next years benefit starts the day after
our last show.
Our number one goal is to raise money
for a great cause, where all proceeds are donated to
organizations such as the Make-a- Wish Foundation, Maine
Chapter where terminally ill children are granted wishes that
we help come true or Camp CaPella, where children with
disabilities can participate and appreciate the thrill and
adventure of a summer camp experience.
Secondly, we
want to bring a special day to the local community and for the
car enthusiast, many whom are regular customers. The door
prizes and live auction items are primarily donated by our
dedicated vendors such as Hypertherm, Lincoln Electric, Bremer
Industries and Pferd Abrasives to name a few.
We
further benefit from the team building that unites our
employees and their family members by volunteering at our
organized efforts. All the personnel working the show
volunteer their time and effort from setup to clean-up. The
two shows require over seventy volunteers.
We feel we
get back much more in return for our efforts and the plan is
to continue developing the events and help serve the
community.
